FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. 0
2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This bill amends AS 33.07.030(g) relating to duties of pretrial services officers by adding the crime of escape in the third
degree under AS 11.56.320 as an offense for which pretrial services officers have the authority to arrest, file charges, or
request a warrant.
Passage of this bill would lessen the need for trooper involvement in cases where a defendant on pretrial supervision
commits the crime of escape in the third degree. As a result, there is no fiscal impact to the Division of Alaska State
Troopers and a zero fiscal note is being submitted.
