FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB 145
2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This bill amends AS 05.25.055(i) by adding a new subsection (7). This subsection fixes an issue that was created by the
passage of SB 92 in the 31st Legislature, first session which duplicated the registration requirements of commercial fishing
vessels. This proposed fix to AS 05.25.055 will allow validly licensed commercial fishing vessels who have been issued a
commercial fishing permit and are registered through the commercial fisheries entry commission to be exempt from
duplicative licensing under Department of Administration, Division of Motor Vehicles.
There is no fiscal impact on DPS' enforcement.
