A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act directing the Department of Revenue to pay a supplemental dividend to certain
2 eligible individuals; and providing for an effective date."
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
4 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section
5 to read:
6 SUPPLEMENTAL PERMANENT FUND DIVIDEND. (a) Notwithstanding
7 AS 43.23.005, the commissioner of revenue shall pay a supplemental permanent fund
8 dividend to each eligible individual as provided under this section. The commissioner shall
9 determine the total amount of the dividend by dividing the amount appropriated by the Thirty-
10 First Alaska State Legislature from the earnings reserve account (AS 37.13.145) to the
11 dividend fund (AS 43.23.045(a)) for payment of a supplemental permanent fund dividend by
12 the number of eligible individuals.
13 (b) In this section, "eligible individual" means an individual
14 (1) who received a 2016, 2017, or 2018 permanent fund dividend; and

1 (2) eligible for a 2019 permanent fund dividend.
2 * Sec. 2. CONTINGENCY. Section 1(a) of this Act is contingent on passage by the Thirty-
3 First Alaska State Legislature and enactment into law before June 30, 2019, of an
4 appropriation from the earnings reserve account (AS 37.13.145) to the dividend fund
5 (AS 43.23.045(a)) for the payment of a supplemental permanent fund dividend.
6 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
