FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 123
2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This bill makes several changes in statute to address the use of electricassisted bicycles (including definitions) and requires
the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to adopt regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of Title 28 as amended to
include electricassisted bicycles.
Passage of this bill would have no fiscal impact to DPS. Therefore, a zero fiscal note is being submitted.
DPS estimates the regulation process would take no longer than twelve months from the bill's effective date to complete.
Because the bill has no effectivedate provision, a September 1, 2020, date has been identified as the date by which the
regulations would be adopted by.
