FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act relating to the taking of big game by nonresidents; and providing for an
2 effective date."
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
4 * Section 1. AS 16.05.256 is amended to read:
5 Sec. 16.05.256. Nonresident and nonresident alien permits. Whenever it is
6 necessary to restrict the taking of big game so that the opportunity for state residents to
7 take big game can be reasonably satisfied in accordance with sustained yield
8 principles, the Board of Game shall [MAY], through a permit system, limit the taking
9 of big game by nonresidents and nonresident aliens to accomplish that purpose.
10 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020.
