A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act requiring the designation of state water as outstanding national resource water
2 to occur in statute; relating to management of outstanding national resource water by
3 the Department of Environmental Conservation; and providing for an effective date."
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
5 * Section 1. AS 46.03 is amended by adding a new section to read:
6 Sec. 46.03.085. Outstanding national resource water. (a) Water of the state
7 may be designated as outstanding national resource water, as described in federal
8 regulation, only in statute.
9 (b) Water of the state may not be managed as outstanding national resource
10 water unless the water has been designated as outstanding national resource water
11 under (a) of this section.
12 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
