FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act establishing October 1 as Choose Respect Day."
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
3 * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:
4 Sec. 44.12.157. Choose Respect Day. Choose Respect Day is established on
5 October 1 of each year to promote awareness and prevention of domestic violence,
6 sexual assault, and child sexual abuse in the state. Choose Respect Day may be
7 observed by suitable observances and exercises by civic groups and the public.
