A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act relating to contracts for highway construction projects."
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
3 * Section 1. AS 19.10.180 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
4 (b) In a contract for materials and supplies under this section, the department
5 shall require, as terms of the contract, that the
6 (1) load of sand, gravel, rock, or similar materials for the construction
7 project be covered; and
8 (2) penalty for an uncovered load be that the cost of the load will not
9 be paid.
10 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to
11 read:
12 APPLICABILITY. AS 19.10.180(b), enacted by sec. 1 of this Act, applies to contracts
13 entered into on or after the effective date of sec. 1 of this Act.
