FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. CSHB 177(RES)
2018 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislation would provide statutory authority and guidance to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game regarding
response to and control of incipient populations of aquatic invasive species, and establishes an aquatic invasive species
response fund to pay for aquatic invasive species response efforts. The bill also requires the Alaska Department of Natural
Resources or the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to publish an informational pamphlet regarding aquatic invasive
species that would be provided to any person that was transporting a vessel into the state by ferry. The estimated cost for
design, layout, and printing of the pamphlet is $5.0 per year.
