A RESOLUTION
1 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to notice
2 and consent before termination of a minor's pregnancy.
3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
4 * Section 1. Article I, Constitution of the State of Alaska, is amended by adding a new
5 section to read:
6 Section 26. Notice and Consent before Termination of Minor's Pregnancy.
7 This constitution does not prohibit the legislature or the people from requiring notice
8 to and the consent of the parent or legal guardian of a minor before the minor's
9 pregnancy is terminated. The legislature shall implement this section by law in a
10 manner consistent with the requirements of the Constitution of the United States, and
11 the people may implement this section by initiative in a manner consistent with the
12 requirements of the Constitution of the United States.
13 * Sec. 2. The amendment proposed by this resolution shall be placed before the voters of the
14 state at the next general election in conformity with art. XIII, sec. 1, Constitution of the State
15 of Alaska, and the election laws of the state.
