This bill amends the existing law regarding pari-mutuel permits and the distribution of funds generated from pari-mutuel events in Wyoming. It introduces a new requirement that one percent (1%) of the total amount wagered on historic pari-mutuel events and simulcasting be paid to the state highway fund. This payment is in addition to the existing requirement for permittees to pay an equal share to the county and city or town where they are located. The bill also modifies the language regarding the amounts that permittees may retain, specifying that they can keep eighteen and four-tenths percent (18.40%) of the total amount wagered on historic pari-mutuel events and simulcasting, and nineteen and four-tenths percent (19.40%) for all other pari-mutuel events.

Additionally, the bill clarifies the handling of funds paid to the commission, stating that all sums, except for certain contributions and fines, will be credited to the pari-mutuel account. This account will be used for expenses related to enforcing the act, with excess funds transferred to the legislative stabilization reserve account on a quarterly basis. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2027.
