This bill authorizes the renovation of the Wyoming veterans' memorial museum and establishes a task force to oversee the project. The task force will consist of legislative members, state government representatives, and a member representing veterans' interests, and will serve in an advisory capacity to the executive branch. The task force is responsible for monitoring the renovation process, providing recommendations, and reporting to the joint travel, recreation, wildlife, and cultural resources interim committee annually. The task force will be staffed by the state construction department and will terminate once the renovation project is completed and the facility is occupied.
Additionally, the bill appropriates a total of $5 million from the Wyoming tourism reserve and projects account for the renovation project, along with $25,000 each from the general fund for payments to legislative and non-legislative task force members. These appropriations are designated specifically for the renovation project and cannot be used for any other purpose, with any unspent funds reverting to the state upon project completion. The act is effective immediately upon fulfilling the necessary legislative procedures.
