The bill amends the existing law regarding motor vehicle registration fees in Wyoming by exempting certain vehicles from these fees. Specifically, it adds new categories of exempt vehicles, including those owned by the tribal governments of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes of the Wind River Indian Reservation. Other exemptions include vehicles owned by the United States, the state of Wyoming, various political subdivisions, irrigation districts, weed and pest control districts, and senior citizen centers providing services to seniors.
The bill modifies the language in W.S. 31-3-101(g)(i) by inserting several new categories of exempt vehicles, denoted by letters (A) through (E), while deleting the word "or" that previously connected some of the categories. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2026.
