The bill amends Wyoming Statute 23-1-302(h) to grant the game and fish commission the authority to establish limits on the number of landowner hunting licenses issued in limited quota hunt areas. This change aims to promote wildlife habitat maintenance and management objectives. Specifically, the commission can set rules to limit the number of these licenses when necessary to maintain public hunting opportunities, ensuring that at least 40% of the licenses in a limited quota area are available to landowners. Any licenses not issued to landowners will revert to the public for purchase.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that the fees for these landowner hunting licenses will align with those prescribed under W.S. 23-2-101(j) for each species. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2026.
