The bill mandates the Wyoming Energy Authority to conduct a comprehensive study on the economic impacts of the energy industry in Wyoming, with a deadline set for October 1, 2025. The study is required to cover various aspects, including the types of mineral and energy production in the state, the economic contributions of these sectors by region and type, tax contributions from energy producers over the past five years, employment statistics, payroll data, and other economic benefits related to energy production. Additionally, the study should highlight innovations in energy developed by Wyoming producers over the last decade and any other relevant information deemed necessary by the Wyoming Energy Authority.
To facilitate the completion of this study, the Wyoming Energy Authority is authorized to seek assistance from state agencies and higher education institutions, which are required to provide the necessary support and information. Upon completion of the study, a report must be submitted to several legislative committees by the specified deadline. The act is set to take effect immediately after fulfilling all necessary legislative procedures as outlined in the Wyoming Constitution.
