The bill amends W.S. 17-28-108(c) to modify the conditions under which the Secretary of State can release confidential information maintained by registered agents. It specifies that while the Secretary of State will continue to hold records confidential, they may now release such information not only pursuant to a court-ordered subpoena or to a bona fide law enforcement agency for criminal investigations, but also upon written application to a county assessor or county treasurer for official business purposes.

Additionally, the bill establishes that any records obtained by a county assessor or county treasurer must also be kept confidential, with the same stipulations for release as those applied to the Secretary of State. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2025.
