This bill amends existing laws regarding child safety restraint systems in passenger vehicles in Wyoming. It mandates that children under the age of two or those who have not reached the specified weight or height limits for their particular child safety restraint system must be secured in a rear-facing child safety restraint. Additionally, the bill clarifies that children under nine years of age must be properly secured in a child safety restraint system in a seat other than the front seat, unless certain conditions are met, such as the vehicle having only one row of seats or all safety belts in the back being in use.

The bill also specifies that a rear-facing child safety restraint system cannot be placed in front of an active airbag. The effective date for this legislation is set for July 1, 2025. Key changes include the replacement of the age limit from "his ninth birthday" to "nine years of age," and the introduction of requirements for rear-facing restraint systems until the child reaches the age of two or the maximum limits set by the manufacturer.
