This bill amends Wyoming Statute 9-1-305(a) to allow the Secretary of State to charge a fee for expediting the filing of certain documents. Specifically, a new paragraph (viii) is added, which permits the Secretary of State to charge a maximum fee of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) for expediting the filing of documents filed under Title 17, Title 34, or Title 40, Chapters 1 and 2 of the Wyoming statutes. The bill stipulates that the fee and the process for requesting expedited filings will be established by the Secretary of State's rules, considering the costs associated with both the filing and the expedited service. Importantly, the expedited filing does not confer any advantages regarding the timing of the filing compared to non-expedited submissions.

The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025. This legislative change aims to streamline the filing process for certain documents while providing a mechanism for filers to expedite their submissions when necessary.
