This bill amends Wyoming Statute 9-1-305(a) to allow the Secretary of State to charge a fee for expediting the filing of certain documents. A new paragraph (viii) is added, specifying that the fee for expediting filings related to titles 17, 34, or 40, chapters 1 and 2 of the Wyoming statutes can be up to five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). The Secretary of State is authorized to establish the fee and the process for requesting expedited filings through rules that consider the costs associated with both the filing and the expedited service. Importantly, the bill clarifies that expedited filings do not confer any advantages over non-expedited filings regarding the timing of submission.
The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025. This legislative change aims to streamline the filing process for certain documents while providing a mechanism for filers to expedite their submissions when necessary.
