Advanced practice registered nurses-certification.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to professions and occupations; clarifying
2 that advanced practice registered nurses are not required
3 to have advanced certification as specified; allowing for
4 physician oversight as specified; and providing for an
5 effective date.

7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

9 Section 1. W.S. 33-21-159 is created to read:
10
11 33-21-159. Advanced practice registered nurses;
12 advanced certification not required.

14 The board of nursing shall not require advanced practice
15 registered nurses to obtain any advanced certification in

1 order to administer care to patients in a hospital setting.
2 Physician oversight may be determined by the medical staff
3 bylaws of a hospital.

5 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2024.
