Poverty level specificity in Wyoming law.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to government reports; requiring state
2 entities to include the actual values of the poverty level
3 in any report to the public or the legislature; providing a
4 definition; specifying applicability; and providing for an
5 effective date.

7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

9 Section 1. W.S. 8-8-101 is created to read:

14 8-8-101. Poverty level in reporting.

1 Any state entity providing a written report to the public
2 or the legislature that references the federal poverty
3 level or a percentage of the federal poverty level shall
4 include the actual numeric value of the federal poverty
5 level referenced in the report as it exists at the time the
6 report is published. For purposes of this section, "state
7 entity" means the state of Wyoming, any state office,
8 board, council, commission, separate operating agency,
9 department, institution or other instrumentality or
10 operating unit of the state, including the University of
11 Wyoming, any political subdivision of the state, any
12 county, city, town, school district, community college
13 district or any public corporation of the state.

15 Section 2. This act shall apply to all reports
16 published by state entities on and after July 1, 2024.

18 Section 3. This act is effective July 1, 2024.
