The bill amends existing laws regarding the issuance of hunting licenses for moose and bighorn sheep in Wyoming. It removes the lifetime restriction on individuals who were previously subject to a five-year restriction for these species, allowing them to apply for and receive a moose or bighorn sheep license as if they had not received a cow or calf moose or ewe or lamb bighorn sheep license after July 1, 2022. However, if they are issued a moose or bighorn sheep license after the effective date of the act, they will then be subject to a lifetime restriction.
Additionally, the bill makes conforming amendments to the language surrounding complimentary licenses, specifying that the five-year restriction on receiving a cow or calf moose or ewe or lamb bighorn sheep license will not apply to licenses issued under the complimentary license provision. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2024.
