A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to the administration of government;
2 allowing the secretary of state to charge a fee to expedite
3 filings of documents as specified; and providing for an
4 effective date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 9-1-305(a) by creating a new
9 paragraph (viii) is amended to read:
10
11 9-1-305. Fees; amounts; collection; exceptions.

13 (a) The secretary of state shall collect the
14 following fees in advance for:

1 (viii) Expediting the filing of any document
2 filed pursuant to title 17, title 34 or title 40, chapters
3 1 and 2 of the Wyoming statutes, a maximum of five thousand
4 dollars ($5,000.00). Notwithstanding any other law to the
5 contrary, the secretary of state may charge a fee as
6 specified in this paragraph to expedite the filing of a
7 document filed with the secretary of state's office
8 pursuant to title 17, title 34 or title 40, chapters 1 and
9 2 of the Wyoming statutes upon the request of the filer.
10 The fee and process for requesting an expedited filing
11 shall be established by rule of the secretary of state
12 taking into account the cost of the filing fee and the
13 costs of expediting the filing. The expedition of a filing
14 shall not grant any benefit over a nonexpedited filing for
15 purposes of the timing of filing.

17 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2024.
