The bill amends Wyoming Statute 9-1-305(a) to allow the Secretary of State to charge a fee for expediting the filing of certain documents. Specifically, a new paragraph (viii) is added, which permits the Secretary of State to charge a maximum fee of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) for expediting the filing of documents related to titles 17, 34, or 40, chapters 1 and 2 of the Wyoming statutes. The process for requesting an expedited filing and the associated fee will be established by the Secretary of State's rules, which will consider the costs involved in both the filing and the expediting process. Importantly, the expedited filing will not provide any advantages over non-expedited filings in terms of filing timing.

The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2024. This legislative change aims to streamline the filing process for certain documents while providing a clear fee structure for expedited services.
