This bill authorizes the Wyoming state fire marshal, in collaboration with the director of the department of workforce services and relevant stakeholders, to produce a recruitment film aimed at attracting volunteer firefighters in the state. The film is to be no longer than twenty minutes and will be made publicly available upon completion. Additionally, the state fire marshal is permitted to contract with a public relations firm to assist in the film's production.

The bill includes an appropriation of $150,000 from the general fund to the state fire marshal specifically for the film's creation, which may also cover the hiring of a public relations firm if needed. This funding is designated for the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026, and cannot be used for any other purpose. Any unspent funds by the end of this period will revert as stipulated by law. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2024.
