A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to game and fish; establishing a hunting
2 week for volunteer firefighters and volunteer emergency
3 medical technicians; specifying applicability; requiring
4 rulemaking; and providing for effective dates.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 23-1-302 by creating a new paragraph
9 (xxxiv) is amended to read:

1 (a) The commission is directed and empowered:
2
3 (xxxiv) To establish a date for volunteer
4 firefighters and volunteer emergency medical technicians
5 who are residents of this state and have purchased a
6 hunting license to begin hunting antelope, deer and elk
7 seven (7) days prior to the regular hunting seasons
8 established for the general population. For purposes of
9 this paragraph, "volunteer firefighter" means as defined by
10 W.S. 35-9-616(a)(x) and "volunteer emergency medical
11 technician" means as defined by W.S. 35-9-616(a)(viii).

13 Section 2. This act shall apply to all regular
14 antelope, deer and elk hunting seasons commencing on or
15 after January 1, 2025.

17 Section 3. The game and fish commission shall
18 promulgate all rules necessary to implement the provisions
19 of this act.

1 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
2 section, this act is effective January 1, 2025.

4 (b) Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this act are effective
5 immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a
6 bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of
7 the Wyoming Constitution.
