The bill authorizes the governor of Wyoming to cease cooperation with federal land management agencies if it is determined that their policies are harmful to the state. The governor can also direct executive branch agencies to refrain from assisting these federal agencies during this period of non-cooperation. Additionally, the bill provides that agencies will not be subject to enforcement of state laws or regulations regarding cooperation with federal agencies during this time, and prosecutors are prohibited from filing charges against agencies for violations related to this non-cooperation, except for criminal offenses.
Furthermore, the bill encourages local government officials to also refrain from cooperating with federal land management agencies during the governor's designated period of non-cooperation. This provision is set to expire on July 1, 2025, and the act will take effect immediately upon the completion of necessary legislative procedures.
