The bill amends Wyoming Statute 36-5-104 to provide state land lessees with additional time to renew their leases. Specifically, it introduces a new subsection (c) that allows the director of the office of state lands and investments to grant a current lessee an extension of thirty days beyond the lease expiration date to submit a renewal application, provided there is good cause shown and a written request is made. If the office denies this request, the lessee has the right to appeal the decision to the state loan and investment board, and importantly, the lease will not terminate during the appeal process.
