This bill amends Wyoming law to mandate the investment of the state unemployment insurance trust fund in the pool A investment account. Specifically, it adds a new paragraph (xvi) to W.S. 9-4-715, stating that the state unemployment insurance trust fund, as established by W.S. 27-3-209(a), shall be included in the pool A investment account. The state treasurer, or their designee, is authorized to invest these funds in equities, following the guidelines set forth in the existing law.
The bill also stipulates that the state loan and investment board must annually review the investment policy statements for the pool A investment account in consultation with the relevant state agencies. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2024, and requires a two-thirds majority vote from both houses of the legislature for passage, as per the Wyoming Constitution.
