A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to elections; revising provisions relating
2 to political party affiliation changes and declarations by
3 qualified electors; and providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

7 Section 1. 22-5-214(a) is amended to read:
8
9 22-5-214. Declaration or change in party affiliation.

11 (a) For a primary election, an a qualified elector
12 may declare or change party affiliation on an existing

1 voter registration by completing an application signed
2 before a notarial officer or election official and filing
3 it with the county clerk before the first day on which an
4 application for nomination may be filed under W.S. 22-5-
5 209. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit an elector
6 who is not registered to vote in Wyoming after the first
7 day on which an application for nomination may be filed
8 under W.S. 22-5-209 from registering and declaring a party
9 affiliation before or at the next primary election.

11 Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon
12 completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
13 as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
14 Constitution.
