The bill amends Wyoming law to prohibit the waste of edible portions of trophy game animals and establishes regulations regarding the abandonment of such meat at processing plants. Specifically, it expands the definition of waste to include trophy game animals, making it illegal for individuals to abandon or allow any part of these animals to go to waste. Additionally, it requires that individuals properly care for and transport the carcass of any trophy game animal they kill within 48 hours, or they will be presumed to have violated the law.

Furthermore, the bill prohibits the abandonment of meat from trophy game animals at meat processing plants, stipulating that if meat is left for more than 45 days without an agreement, it constitutes a violation. The processing plant must notify the owner of the meat before this time limit expires. In cases of violation, the owner of the processing plant is entitled to the proceeds from the sale of any confiscated meat, after covering reasonable processing or storage charges. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2023.
