A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to food and drugs; allowing custom exempt
2 meat processors to offer products for retail sale;
3 providing a definition; and providing for an effective
4 date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 35-7-128 is created to read:
9
10 35-7-128. Custom exempt meat processing; retail sale
11 permitted.

13 (a) Any meat processing facility that is licensed as
14 a custom exempt meat processor by the department of

1 agriculture may offer any carcass or meat products for
2 retail sale in Wyoming.

4 (b) As used in this section, "custom exempt meat
5 processor" means a licensed facility under the meat
6 inspection program under W.S. 35-7-123(a)(x) that processes
7 carcasses and meat products pursuant to the exemption under
8 9 C.F.R. 303.1.

10 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2023.
