Electrical installation by licensed electricians.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to electrical safety; clarifying that
2 installation of electrical generation equipment shall be
3 performed by a licensed electrician; and providing for an
4 effective date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 35-9-123(a)(intro) and by creating a
9 new subsection (c) is amended to read:
10
11 35-9-123. Electrical installations to be performed by
12 licensed electricians; exceptions.

14 (a) Licensed electrical contractors employing
15 licensed master or journeymen electricians, or registered

1 apprentice electricians supervised by a licensed master or
2 journeyman electrician shall install all electrical
3 equipment including all electrical generation equipment.
4 This requirement is waived for the following, however the
5 waiver does not exempt the following persons from meeting
6 all other code requirements under this act:

8 (c) As used in this section, "electrical generation
9 equipment" shall include power inverters, power optimizers,
10 power monitors, solar panels, wind turbines and
11 hydroelectric generators.

13 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2023.
