Telecommunicator cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to administration of the government;
2 requiring telecommunicator cardiopulmonary resuscitation
3 training for dispatchers as specified; requiring the peace
4 officer standards and training commission to amend its
5 standards and rules; and providing for effective dates.

7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

9 Section 1. W.S. 9-1-702(h) is amended to read:
10
11 9-1-702. Created; membership; removal; compensation;
12 meetings; publication of procedures; standards for
13 certified training; powers and duties.

1 (h) The commission shall establish course
2 requirements and continuing education requirements for
3 public safety dispatcher training, including current
4 guidelines on emergency cardiovascular care and relaying
5 appropriate cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructions to
6 callers for those positions that the commission determines
7 require telecommunicator cardiopulmonary resuscitation
8 training.

10 Section 2. Not later than January 1, 2024, the peace
11 officer standards and training commission shall amend its
12 standards and rules as necessary to implement this act.

14 Section 3.

16 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
17 section, this act is effective January 1, 2024.
18
19 (b) Sections 2 and 3 of this act are effective
20 July 1, 2023.
