The bill establishes a new crime in Wyoming known as "trespass by small unmanned aircraft." Under the newly created section 6-3-308, a person can be charged with this offense if they operate a small unmanned aircraft that enters the airspace above private property and significantly disrupts the landowner's use and enjoyment of their land. The definitions of "aircraft," "unmanned aircraft," and "small unmanned aircraft" are aligned with federal regulations as of September 13, 2022.
Penalties for violating this law include a fine of up to $750, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2023.
