Prohibit travel across private land for hunting purposes.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to game and fish; expanding the prohibition
2 for entering enclosed property without permission for
3 hunting purposes to also prohibit traveling through the
4 enclosed property; amending penalties for entering or
5 traveling through enclosed property without permission for
6 hunting purposes; and providing for an effective date.

8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

10 Section 1. W.S. 23-3-305(b) and 23-6-202(a) by
11 creating a new paragraph (xii) are amended to read:
12
13 23-3-305. Hunting from highway; entering or traveling
14 through enclosed private property without permission;
15 penalty; hunting at night without permission prohibited.

2 (b) No person shall enter upon or travel through the
3 private property of any person to hunt, fish, collect
4 antlers or horns, or trap without the permission of the
5 owner or person in charge of the property. Violation of
6 this subsection constitutes a low misdemeanor punishable as
7 provided in W.S. 23-6-202(a)(v) 23-6-202(a)(xii).

9 23-6-202. Fines and sentences.

11 (a) Any person who has been convicted of or pleaded
12 guilty to any offense under this act may be fined,
13 sentenced to the county jail, or both, as follows:
14
15 (xii) Up to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to
16 which may be added imprisonment up to six (6) months and
17 forfeiture of any game, antlers or horns taken in violation
18 of W.S. 23-3-305(b).

20 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2022.
