A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to game and fish; authorizing a refund or
2 reimbursement of hunting licenses due to chronic wasting
3 disease as specified; and providing for effective dates.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

7 Section 1. W.S. 23-1-705 by creating new subsections
8 (m) and (n) is amended to read:
9
10 23-1-705. Complimentary licenses; antelope hunt
11 licenses; gunpowder and buckskin hunt licenses; gratuitous
12 licenses; donated licenses; elk and deer license
13 reimbursements.

1 (m) A resident holder of a valid Wyoming cow elk
2 hunting license, who takes a cow elk that tests positive
3 for chronic wasting disease may, at the election of the
4 license holder, request and receive from the department a
5 reimbursement of one-half (1/2) of the license fee paid
6 pursuant to W.S. 23-2-101(j)(xviii) or (xx) or a
7 replacement cow elk license to be used in the same season
8 and area unless the license holder requests and the
9 commission approves the replacement license to be used in
10 another season or area.

12 (n) A resident holder of a valid Wyoming doe deer
13 hunting license, who takes a doe deer that tests positive
14 for chronic wasting disease may, at the election of the
15 license holder, request and receive from the department a
16 reimbursement of one-half (1/2) of the license fee paid
17 pursuant to W.S. 23-2-101(j)(xiv) or (xvi) or a replacement
18 doe deer license to be used in the same season and area
19 unless the license holder requests and the commission
20 approves the replacement license to be used in another
21 season or area.

1 Section 2. The Wyoming game and fish commission shall
2 promulgate any rules necessary to implement this act.

4 Section 3.

6 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
7 section, this act is effective July 1, 2021.
8
9 (b) Sections 2 and 3 of this act are effective
10 immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a
11 bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of
12 the Wyoming Constitution.
