A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to legal time; requiring the state to
2 observe a time zone as specified; establishing a new
3 uniform state time; repealing provisions; and providing for
4 effective dates.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 8-4-116 is created to read:
9
10 8-4-116. Mountain standard time.

12 (a) The year round observed time of the state of
13 Wyoming and all of the state's political subdivisions is
14 mountain standard time. Wyoming exempts all areas of the
15 state from mountain daylight time.

2 (b) As used in this section:

4 (i) "Mountain daylight time" means the period
5 during a year when mountain standard time is advanced one
6 (1) hour in accordance with 15 U.S.C. § 260a;
7
8 (ii) "Mountain standard time" means the observed
9 time assigned to the fourth time zone in 15 U.S.C. § 261.

11 Section 2. 2020 Wyoming Session Laws, Chapter 134 is
12 repealed.

14 Section 3. To the extent that W.S. 8-4-115 becomes
15 effective before the effective date of this act, W.S.
16 8-4-115 is repealed.

1 Section 4.

3 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
4 section, this act is effective November 7, 2021.
5
6 (b) Sections 2 through 4 of this act are effective
7 immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a
8 bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of
9 the Wyoming Constitution.
