The new legal language specifies that any health care facility, including individuals, partnerships, associations, corporations, or governmental units holding a previously issued license, can make this move without additional licensing requirements.

Additionally, the bill makes several changes to the exemptions from the certificate of need process, including adjustments to the percentage of scans required for private office practices and the conditions under which health care facilities can acquire major medical equipment or expand services. Notably, the bill reduces the required percentage of scans performed on patients of a private office practice from a higher threshold to 75 percent, while also allowing certain exemptions for facilities involved in research and other specified health services.
