This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to prohibit the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission from taking any adverse actions against middle or high school student athletes who participate in travel sports. Specifically, it inserts a new provision stating that the commission shall not engage in discriminatory actions against these student athletes. However, it also includes a stipulation that student athletes involved in school athletics must prioritize their school programs in the event of scheduling conflicts with travel sports.

Additionally, the bill renumbers the existing subsections to accommodate the new insertion. The previous subsection (f) is deleted, and the new provision becomes subsection (f), while the subsequent subsections are renumbered accordingly. The bill aims to ensure that student athletes can participate in both school and travel sports without facing penalties or discrimination from the commission.
