This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to provide an annual salary increase of $3,000 for members of the West Virginia State Police who are assigned and serving in field duty, effective July 1, 2025. The bill also includes various provisions related to the promotion and classification of members within the State Police, as well as the establishment of a career progression system. It mandates that the superintendent of the West Virginia State Police create a written manual outlining the procedures for promotion and reclassification, ensuring transparency and consistency in the evaluation process.

Additionally, the bill makes several deletions and insertions to existing law. Notably, it deletes previous subsections (f), (g), (h), (i), (j), and (k) and replaces them with new provisions that clarify the exclusion of State Police members from state wage and hour laws, the conditions for supplemental pay, and the requirements for executing a bond. The changes aim to enhance the compensation structure for field duty officers while maintaining the integrity of the State Police's operational framework.
