This bill amends the Code of West Virginia by adding a new section, 5-22-5, which mandates that public entities accepting bids on public construction contracts, or any other type of contract funded by taxpayer money, must notify all relevant municipalities and counties where the contractor or subcontractors will be performing services. The notification must be made in writing within seven days of the bid acceptance and should include a brief description of the services, the contractor's identity and contact information, and the estimated timeline for the services.

Additionally, the bill requires that the municipalities or counties publish the terms of the contract and allow a 30-day period for public comment. This aims to enhance transparency and community engagement regarding public contracts, ensuring that local governments and residents are informed and have the opportunity to provide feedback on projects that may affect them.
