Born in 1943 in Bluefield, West Virginia, Wanda graduated from Charleston High School in 1961 and had a successful career that included roles in various organizations, culminating in a 34-year tenure as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant in the West Virginia Senate. Throughout her career, she was known for her exceptional organizational skills and her ability to mentor newer members and staff, fostering strong relationships within the Senate.

Wanda was also a dedicated member of her community and church, actively participating in Cross Lanes Bible Church and Bible Center Church for many years. She was deeply loved by her family, including her husband David, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage, and her children and grandchildren. Wanda passed away on May 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and kindness.
