Additionally, the bill removes the previous restriction that prohibited members who joined the retirement system after July 1, 2015, from using their accrued leave for additional credited service. This change ensures that all members, regardless of their start date, have the option to utilize their accrued leave days to enhance their retirement benefits, thereby promoting equity within the retirement system.
