This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to establish a special registration plate for 100% disabled veterans. The new provisions allow the commissioner to issue these special plates upon appropriate application, enabling qualified applicants to obtain a unique plate for any number of vehicles registered in their name. The bill specifies that a special initial application fee of $10 will be charged, along with an annual fee of $15 for each special plate. Importantly, there is no minimum number of applications required before the design and production of these plates can commence.

In addition to the new provisions, the bill maintains existing regulations regarding the issuance and requirements for registration plates, including the need for plates to be readable from a distance and the commissioner’s authority to suspend registrations for non-compliance. The bill aims to honor and recognize the service of 100% disabled veterans by providing them with a distinct license plate option.
