SENATE RESOLUTION 205(By Senators Blair (Mr. President), Azinger, Barrett, Boley, Caputo, Chapman, Clements, Deeds, Grady, Hamilton, Hunt, Jeffries, Karnes, Maroney, Martin, Maynard, Nelson, Oliverio, Phillips, Queen, Roberts, Rucker, Smith, Stover, Stuart, Swope, Takubo, Tarr, Taylor, Trump, Weld, Woelfel, and Woodrum)[Introduced October 7, 2024] Recognizing the dedicated public service of the Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale.Whereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale was born February 21, 1955, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Shearl and Sallie Plymale; andWhereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale received his education at Marshall University; andWhereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale was first elected to the Senate in 1992, and has served eight consecutive terms; andWhereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale served as Chair of the Committee on Transportation during the 71st Legislature, Chair of the Committee on Pensions during the 72nd, 73rd, 74th, and 75th Legislatures, and Chair of the Committee on Education during the 76th, 77th, 78th, 79th, 80th, and 81st Legislatures; andWhereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale has decided not to seek reelection to the Senate in 2024; andWhereas, The Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale will retire with the second most consecutive years of service in the history of the Senate; therefore, be itResolved by the Senate:That the Senate hereby recognizes the dedicated public service of the Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale; and, be itFurther Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale for his dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of West Virginia; and, be itFurther Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Robert Hugh Plymale.
