1 A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section,
2 designated §9-2-14, relating to Medicaid coverage for postpartum health care.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 2. COMMISSIONER OF HUMAN SERVICES; POWERS, DUTIES AND
RESPOSIBILITIES GENERALLY.
§9-2-14. Coverage for postpartum healthcare.
1 Pregnant women and new parents up to twenty-four (24) months postpartum, and children
2 up to age two shall be eligible for participation in the West Virginia Medicaid Program if:
3 (1) They have family income up to but not exceeding one hundred and eighty-five percent
4 (185%) of the nonfarm income official poverty guidelines as promulgated by the Department of
5 Health and Human Services of the United States as revised annually; and
6 (2) They are otherwise eligible for the program.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide Medicaid coverage for postpartum healthcare.
