1 A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section,
2 designated §18-9D-22, relating to requiring the School Building Authority to assess school
3 safety and make a determination as to whether school safety construction is part of the
4 project.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 9D. SCHOOL BUILDING AUTHORITY.
§18-9D-22. Required assessment of school safety for projects.
1 All projects that are funded by the School Building Authority shall undergo an assessment
2 of the school safety, regardless of whether it is a new or existing project. Additionally, there shall be
3 a determination by the School Building Authority as to whether school safety construction is
4 needed as part of the project or is needed at the time of the project.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the School Building Authority to make an
assessment of school safety needs for any new or existing projects.
