The 2025 Senate Joint Resolution 106 congratulates the Greendale High School Marching Band for achieving an impressive milestone by winning the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship for the 20th consecutive year. The band, under the direction of Tom Reifenberg, showcased their performance of "Snow Angel," which included music from Disney's Frozen II, Beyoncé, and Frank Ticheli's "Angels in the Architecture." Their outstanding performance not only earned them the highest score across all classes but also accolades for Best Music, Best Visuals, and Best Percussion at the championship held on October 18, 2025.
In addition to their state championship success, the Greendale High School Marching Band is set to perform at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis and has the distinction of being the first high school band to perform twice in both the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade within a decade. With nearly 200 students participating, representing about 20% of the student body, the band exemplifies community involvement through local fundraising efforts. The resolution recognizes the band's achievements and contributions to the community, celebrating their legacy and commitment to excellence in music.
