The 2025 Assembly Joint Resolution 56, introduced by Representative Green and cosponsored by Senator Quinn, recognizes and congratulates Knights of Columbus Council 499 for their 125 years of dedicated service to the Catholic Church and the broader community. Established on June 17, 1900, Council 499 was the first Knights of Columbus council in Wisconsin and has played a pivotal role in guiding the formation of local councils throughout the state and Midwest. The council exemplifies the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, which have been integral to its mission since its inception.

Today, Council 499 consists of 105 members who continue to uphold their commitment to charitable work through extensive volunteer efforts. Their contributions provide essential financial support to various local initiatives, including educational programs at Cathedral School and St. Anthony's parishes, as well as services for adults with developmental disabilities at the Challenge Center. The resolution serves to honor the council's longstanding legacy of compassion and service to both the Church and the community, acknowledging their significant impact over the past century and a quarter.
