2023 ASSEMBLY BILL 1008
January 25, 2024 - Introduced by Representatives MOSES, ROZAR, MACCO,
WICHGERS, S. JOHNSON and SUBECK, cosponsored by Senator FEYEN. Referred
to Committee on Insurance.
1 AN ACT to repeal 146.905 of the statutes; relating to: reducing or eliminating
2 coinsurance and deductibles for health care expenses.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a health care provider is prohibited from reducing or
eliminating, or offering to reduce or eliminate, coinsurance or a deductible of an
individual covered under a health insurance policy that is required under the terms
of the policy, unless paying the amount would be an undue financial hardship to the
individual. This bill eliminates that prohibition.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
3 SECTION 1. 146.905 of the statutes is repealed.
