1   AN ACT      to create 20.255 (3) (eh) and 115.28 (66) of the statutes; relating to:
2        funding for the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center
3        and making an appropriation.
                      Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
          This bill requires the Department of Public Instruction to annually distribute
    the amount appropriated for this purpose to the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, Inc.,
    to support the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center. The
    Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center, a program of the
    Milwaukee Jewish Federation, engages and serves middle and high school students,
    as well as college students and adults, through educational programs and Holocaust
    survivor testimonials. The bill provides $100,000 in each fiscal year of the 2023-25
    fiscal biennium for this purpose.
          For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
    an appendix to this bill.
    The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
        enact as follows:
4        SECTION 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert
5   the following amounts for the purposes indicated:

 6           SECTION 2. 20.255 (3) (eh) of the statutes is created to read:
 7           20.255 (3) (eh) Holocaust education resource center. The amounts in the
 8   schedule for payments to the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, Inc., under s. 115.28
 9   (66).
10           SECTION 3. 115.28 (66) of the statutes is created to read:
11           115.28 (66) HOLOCAUST EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTER. Annually distribute the
12   amounts appropriated under s. 20.255 (3) (eh) to the Milwaukee Jewish Federation,
13   Inc., to support the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center.
